About Me: 

I work in Higher Education, at a local community college, in Student Services. I am front line staff, I work directly with students in a wide variety of roles or functions. I work at a smaller satellite campus, so we have to wear many hats. On any given day I am an admissions specialist, a business office person taking payment, an enrollment services technician, helping to build or update student records. I am IT help for instructors or students trying to navigate their staff/student portal, connect to the wifi on their devices, maneuver their e-learn. I also answer financial aid questions and help students access their financial aid requirements. I also help instructors with their classroom technology or teach them how to do overrides for students. In addition to these things, I create slides, flyers and marketing materials for our campus, service areas, and all kinds of events on campus, create content for our campus Facebook and Instagram accounts and manage the event calendar and schedule rooms on our campus for people and groups in the community. 

I love working in a community college setting. I enjoy watching students learn and grow as they come through our college. I really feel like we can see how we make a difference in people's lives. I also really enjoy the cyclical nature of the work environment. Every eleven weeks we repeat many of the same tasks, then once a year we get a re-boot. It's awesome!
